Equinox Fitness Ad Campaign
Introducing the very controversial yet scandalicious ad campaign by the Equinox Fitness Club which present its exclusive Nuns ‘figure drawing’. Now this is definitely our kind of gym (just minus the women). Priests welcome. The ad was designed by the Fallon Minneapolis media group and shot by German-born photographer Ellen von Unwerth.

    Love this ad - minus the nuns it’s even better! I want to know where Equinox gets all their models(male) from - they are amazingly perfect.

    I find this ad quite amusing. I first saw it as a form of wallpaper in the ASID showcase home in Minneapolis owned by Fallon. It’s posted on one of the walls in the upper level along with other advertisements from his agency. Of course the striking male model got my attention. I’ts not meant to be a truthful portrayal of nuns and I’m annoyed that the Catholic church is upset by the ad. This is a use of a religious icon to get our attention. It is a bit shocking to see but Madonna does this all the time and religious imagery is quite often used in popular culture. Look at the movie “Sister Act”. I think it is refreshing that Nuns can be viewed as real people who also have desires. If there is anything to be concerned with it would be the public nudity (of whick I’m a fan), not the nuns.

    @David:
    What male model doesn’t get our attention?
    As for the Church getting mad… well, stereotypes have held strong for thousands of years and some people are just idiots to not adjust to modern perspectives of anything.
