Jake Gyllenhaal Tops
For the second year in a row the sexy Brokeback Mountain star, Jake Gyllenhaal tops off the polls again as the “Hot 100 Gay Icons”. The 27 year-old actor came first in the survey of 100,000 people on gay website AfterElton.com.
“What accounts for Jake’s ongoing appeal to gay men? His doe-eyed, boy next door (yet somehow smouldering) looks certainly don’t hurt, but we suspect what really makes gay men go for him is that he doesn’t have an issue going for us”, said the website.
The hunky Los Angeles native has gone beyond the call of duty to show his support for the gay community and basically cues the straight people that there isn’t anything wrong with being gay for pay.
“Jake beats ‘Torchwood’ star John Barrowman and ‘Brothers and Sister’s actor Luke McFarlane to the top spot.”

I detest the term gay-for-pay! LOL
OK that said! He does have an appeal that makes it easy for a gay man to relate to. But the fact he played a gay cowboy is the only influence he had in regards to being a gay icon. Is it not?

I’m not going to disagree with that Shaney. People hail him for his looks obviously and I guess him playing a gay cowboy was the only thing he had to do in our fight for equality. Hell, if that’s all they needed i’ll dress drag for em.
