For Allah!

June 6, 2008 @ 12:29 am

For Allah!Rodney King has officially slid down to second place for the greatest beat-down someone’s gotten for no apparent reason, right next to Hector of Troy and that blonde bitch from the first Final Destination who got hit by a bus in the middle of a rant.

Blind seven-year-old Mohammed Atif was brutally tortured and murdered last week for not reading fast enough not memorizing the Koran.

Atif was studying to be a Hafiz-e-Quran, or great scholar of the Koran who is given great amounts of respect and reverence.

The parents of the boy claim that they simply “didn’t believe” all the reports and allegations of abuse and mistreatment from their son, and pushing him onward so that he would complete his goal. “We thought he was making the stories up like kids usually do to avoid going to school,” said his mother, Gulzar Bibi, about the incident.

Qari Ziauddin, Atif’s former instructor, allegedly hung the seven-year-old boy from a ceiling fan, leaving him there for an hour, and brutally beat him afterward. Police claim that coup de grâce was given when he cut the rope the boy was hanging from by his feet, making the boy fall head first onto the ground.

“We punish students who don’t learn their lessons…We used to get similar beatings when we were studying in the same schools. It is not uncommon.”

So yeah, in summation this boy got his ass whooped was tortured for no real reason. I mean hell, they could have at least waited until he was eight, or something. Give him a year before you decide to make his ass grass at least, dear damn.

This is really a very sad event. The thing is culture and religion are really strong forces. And its really hard to really understand how some people really failed to see beyond their faith, that it comes to a certain point that it becomes abusive and totally wrong. Similar here in the US, same concept, different forms, translation: legislators and opponents of gay marriage.

Patric - I don’t think I’d say that a blind kid getting his ass whipped to death and gay marriage are in the same boat…but I get what you mean.

“Me” (whoever the hell that is) - I never blamed the religion, I just said that the fanatics are bat-shit crazy.

There are no standards in Islam re: teachers, how they teach the Koran, and how people interpret those teachings. I was a Muslim convert for a while and attended masjid at a university in Boston. Once during discussion a man said that the Koran gave him the right as an individual to kill certain students on campus who were gay, feminist, etc.; not that he was going to do this mind you, but that it was sanctioned by the Koran. Another man told him that he was wrong, and a third man told them both that only a scholar could decide”! That the morality of such a statement could only be decided by an “expert” says volumes.
